# Humble origins.

In December of 2020, Alex, aka catwithcigar, our founder and designer, and also a lifetime car enthusiast, got a yearning to start, run and design a car company. He got to work quick, sketching models by hand, naming them, writing up basic engine designs for them, and sometimes sharing them with a classmate from trade school. He did this knowing the astronomical costs of starting such a business, and knowing he had nowhere near the amount of money to be able to do it. Nonetheless, about a month later in 2021, Alex said to that classmate: "I don't know what I'm gonna do with it. But I feel like I'm at that point where I just have to do something."

Sadly, with no idea what exactly he could do or means to do it, Indigo Motors lied dormant in a sketchbook for years. That was until around July 2023. Alex realized that maybe the blockchain could bring his passion to life. Once again, he got to work, and Indigo was reborn.
